Innovative job roles at People Know How

Claudia BaldacchinoNews

We’re currently advertising three unique and innovative roles at People Know How – All Aboard Coordinator, Digital Support Technician and Youth & Family Coordinator.

As a social innovation charity, we’ve developed some exciting and unique projects and we’re looking for some new team members to help us run them! Learn more about these three very different, and very innovative opportunities.

All Aboard Coordinator

Our All Aboard project adds a slightly different spin on community support, by providing it on a canal boat! We’re looking for an All Aboard Project Coordinator to lead on this project.

Launched in September 2021, we run the All Aboard canal boat in partnership with Polwarth Parish Church, also known as the Kirk on the Canal, beside which the boat is moored. In this beautiful natural setting, we invite the community to make use of the boat to explore the Union Canal, find new experiences and improve wellbeing.

So what exactly do we do on the boat? Since our launch we’ve welcomed a music series from Live Music Now Scotland, team-building trips for fellow third sector organisations, litter picks from companies looking to give back to the community, days out for young people, the elderly, people experiencing homelessness and asylum seekers, and much more.

Behind all of this work is our wonderful team of volunteers and strong links with the canal community, all of which is brought together by a dedicated All Aboard Project Coordinator.

Digital Support Technician

Did you know that you can impact the lives of children, young people, adults and families by providing organisational IT support?

If you’re looking for something a bit more technical and behind the scenes, then our Digital Support Technician role might be perfect for you, especially if you enjoy problem-solving and testing out new ideas.

Having recently undergone a digital transformation while simultaneously tripling in size, we now have a larger team to support to use a wide array of systems and processes.

We’re always learning and looking out for new ways to make our services more efficient, which means this role has tonnes of opportunities to try new things, troubleshoot and test digital solutions. This support not only helps our team but allows them to provide the best support possible to the community, impacting lives through IT.

Youth & Family Coordinator

What do you get if you cross youth work with art, science and sport, and add in a dash of family support? It’s our Youth & Family Coordinator role!

We know that youth work makes a huge impact on the lives of young people, so we take that support to the next level by offering a holistic service that includes families.

Sitting within our Positive Transitions team, this role focuses on supporting young people in the transition from primary to secondary school. Whether using one-to-one or group work, Youth & Family Coordinators transform lives through support from arts programmes and mystery-solving groups, to sessions using sport, dinosaurs, music and more.
