Launching All Aboard

On Saturday we launched our new project, All Aboard

The launch of our new project All Aboard was celebrated on Saturday 15th June 2019, when guests gathered in Polwarth Parish Church Canal Gardens as part of the 2019 Edinburgh Canal Festival and Raft Race. The sun peeked through the clouds as everyone enjoyed live music and sampled some 'gateau for the bateau'. The gardens and adjacent pontoon also served as a fantastic vantage point to watch the barges cruising up and down the canal and to take in the festival atmosphere.

“I was delighted to launch a new community initiative at Polwarth Parish Church...I wish this wonderful initiative all the very best of luck.”
- Ian Murray MP

Ian Murray MP officially launched the project by inviting Rev. Jack Holt of Polwarth Parish Church and Glenn Liddall, Chief Executive of People Know How to call on two Bosun whistles, in keeping with the day's nautical theme. Jack and Glenn then shared their plans for what is shaping up to be an exciting project. With plans to have a barge permanently moored at Polwarth Parish Church within the next 12 months, it’s all hands on deck as the team get to work raising funds and support for the new venture.
