Do you need support to improve your health? We offer walking befriending to adults across Edinburgh. Our aim is to support people who are lonely to improve both their physical and mental health. Once you’re matched with a walking befriender you can:

  • Enjoy weekly social interaction
  • Grow your confidence
  • Engage in activity for all abilities

This project uses our befriending model, ensuring the person sees the same volunteer every week, who has been matched to their requirements and interests. This allows for a rapport to be built, leading to an increase in confidence, enjoyment and trust. The walk is designed around the person and matches their capability and interests.

Over a period of time we see the person growing in confidence, reducing their loneliness and improving physical health.

As we ease out of lockdown we’re delivering socially distant Walking Befriending.
