Members of our Young Artists Club have been exploring the world of art! Take a look at our exhibition, showing some of their favourite pieces.
Young Artists Club is a Pupils Know How group that invites young artists to come together for weekly arts and crafts sessions. They meet once a week, exploring the world of art including different techniques, movements and styles. Materials are sent to each artist, so they can let their creativity run free!
Take a look at our exhibition below, featuring artwork chosen by club members themselves! Congratulations to all our wonderful young artists!
One Colour Painting
I like this painting because it is probably the best painting I have ever done. I got inspired by a mountain scene I saw, and really liked the idea of water coming through them. I chose the colour blue because it is my favourite colour.
Bunny Pot
I like this clay mini pot as I can use it to hold my clips and small things. I think it’s really cute and it’s one of the best out of all my clay art as it has stayed intact, whereas the other clay things have fallen apart. I like working with clay as I haven’t used it for art since Primary 3 and I enjoyed painting my finished piece.
Tyree
I was inspired to make this piece after a family holiday in Tyree a couple of years ago. I am proud of this piece because it is realistic and brings back happy memories.
Collage
I chose my rainbow collage because I enjoyed making it and the way it turned out, but also because it was the first session of Young Artist’s Club and it reminds me of first getting to know everyone.
Nature
This is my favourite artwork so far, a simple but meaningful piece that I did for the session dedicated to nature. I choose this flower that I picked on my trip to Skye, because I wanted to do something special that could remind me of my experience in Scotland.
The Sloth
Rainbow Collage
Me
I chose this piece because it was the first thing I did in my sketch book, and my own creativity inspired me to draw this. The skills I used were sketching and self-portrait. It is my favourite because it is one of my best.
Self Portrait
My favourite artwork comes from our first class – the self portrait session. I love this the most as it has been long since I did art and it reminded me how enjoyable art is and that the possibilities of creation is unlimited. We can use any medium to create stories of ourselves.
