People Know How staff receiving the Inclusive Workspace Award

Winning the Inclusive Workplace Award

Claudia BaldacchinoNews

We've been awarded the Inclusive Workplace Award, recognising our commitment to recruiting and supporting staff and VIPs who have a disability or long-term condition

At People Know How we’re committed to supporting our staff members and VIPs (volunteers, interns and placement students). We’re extremely proud to have received the Inclusive Workplace Award, having worked towards achieving this recognition with ENABLE Scotland and the awarding body, the Scottish Union of Supported Employment.

“It's an honour to have achieved the Inclusive Workplace Award and to be recognised for our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity. We're proud of the support we provide to all those who join the People Know How community and can't wait to continue this work."

Amy Clelland, VIP Manager

This award recognises our commitment to recruiting and supporting employees who have a disability or long-term condition. This means that we have met the award criteria to:

  • Provide a positive and supportive environment for staff and VIPs
  • Implement reasonable adjustments and flexible recruitment practices
  • Ensure we have policies and procedures reflecting our commitment to equality and preventing discrimination
  • Provide supported employment opportunities in our organisation

As we continue to grow and support our staff and VIPs, we will uphold our commitment to inclusivity and regularly review our skills and knowledge in supporting our people.

Big thanks to Amy and our VIP Management team who worked on submitting the evidence for this award, as well as staff members Kirsty and Leah who attended the SUSE (Scottish Union of Support Employment) conference on 3 May to receive the award on behalf of People Know How.
